Unsere Geschichte beginnt im November 1839. Maria Theresia v. Jesu Gerhardinger eröffnet mit fünf Schwestern die erste höhere Schule für Mädchen in der Oberpfalz. Außerdem gründet sie eine Industrieschule für schulentlassene Mädchen und eine so genannte Kleinkinderbewahranstalt. Über die Jahre hinweg entwickelt sich die Töchterschule in eine Mädchenschule und macht uns zu dem, was wir heute sind. Die Dr.-Johanna-Decker-Schulen in Amberg.
